Running Low on Toilet Paper?

Solutions to a Toilet Paper Shortage

Next to clorox wipes and hand sanitizer, toilet paper has become one of the most coveted items in shopping centers, selling out as soon as it is stacked on the shelves. The idea of sheltering in place has really startled our communities, imposing a fear of running out of toilet paper in our homes. As grocery stores have continued to prove, the shelves will be stocked again with Charmin, Cottonelle, Angel Soft, and brands alike. As a community, it is important to only take what you need, limiting everyone’s trips to the grocery store in search of tp!

If you do find yourself running low on toilet paper, and have been unable to purchase a pack at the store, we kindly ask you to please consider a few ideas.

Avoid Flushing ‘Flushable’ Wipes

We have seen it time and time again, flushable wipes backing up sewer lines, leaving homeowners in thousands of dollars in pipe repairs. Although flushable wipes are safe to use on our bodies, any honest plumbing company would urge you to discard them in the trash. Flushable wipes are a great alternative if you are unable to purchase toilet paper, but it is advised to create a designated garbage for disposal. If you do experience an issue with your sewer system, do not hesitate to contact our company at this time.

Reach Out to a Neighbor

If there is anything COVID-19 has taught us thus far, it is that we must come together as a community to fight this virus. Being low, or completely out of toilet paper is an unsettling thought for any homeowner. If you find yourself in this predicament, send a neighbor a text asking if they could leave a roll or two on their front porch. Maybe reach out to the neighborhood via the NextDoor app, asking if anyone stocked up too much and could spare a package. Although we are required to keep our distance, and stay home, there will be a neighbor out there willing to help you get by, leaving a roll outside.

Add a Washlet to Your Current Toilet

As a company, we are committed to providing services to our community during this time. Please visit our post, COVID-19 Update, for more information on how we are doing so. In an effort to conserve toilet paper, a more eco-friendly way of cleaning up may be using a washlet. Washlets are similar to bidets in the way that they supply a stream of water to clean your lower body after using the restroom. The easy part about washlets is they can adhere directly to most residential toilets. If you are interested in having a washlet installed, please call our office directly for more information. If possible, please be ready to provide the model and make of your current toilet.
